Good Day,
This correspondence is in reference to the numerous questions regarding the potential pool opening.
First and foremost, your HOA Board isalways focused on ensuring the safety of ALL of our residents.
As of May 28th, 2020, Suffolk County has not authorized any ‘opening’ of pools. No one is allowed to swim or utilize non-privatepools, and the Blue Ridge pools are community, non-private pools. Suffolk County hasauthorized the ‘cleaning’ and prepping of the pools, which we have commenced.
The pumps are all in working order, chlorine has been acquired and our pool company has been in contact daily with us to facilitate a quick re-opening when the go-ahead is authorized.
Taking the pool cover off to begin ‘prepping’ isn’t a prudent use of our financial resources. Once ‘opened’, we would need to maintain the pool like as ifit were being utilized. This would include daily vacuuming and daily levels being maintained for something we honestly don’t know when/if it will reopen.
Long Island is currently in Stage one, outside of construction and a few other items, nothing else is open.
When Long Island hits phase two, potentially as early as two weeks from this correspondence, we will likely have a better idea from the board of health on a time-frame of pool reopening.
The HOA is looking to be as proactive as possible on ensuring that we open the pools safely and cost-effectively. There will be guidelines and procedures in place to ensure safety for anyone that decides, on their own accord, to utilize the HOA amenities. However, the effectiveness of the guidelines and procedures to be implemented in avoiding new infections of the virus will be dependent upon the level of compliance by the residents. There are no guarantees, and therefore, the use of the pools and other amenities will be at one’s own risk.
If you have any additional concerns/questions, please do not hesitate to contact the HOA Board.
Stay safe.
Blue Ridge HOA Board
