Letter from the Condo II President
“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” ~ Clarence: ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
With December being the last month of the calendar year, one would generally think it is the end, when in fact, it is the very beginning. A readiness for what is to come. It’s the time of year when family and friends gather to celebrate and remember. It is a time when we smile a bit more, make time to visit family and friends, share of not only the store-bought gifts, but of ourselves. Our thoughtfulness, time and energy, we take, and make, the most of each day and think of others unselfishly in preparation for a single day.
One unknowingly makes a difference in others’ lives with these gestures. It is the same within our community here in Blue Ridge. We go about our daily lives doing what we do unconsciously, not realizing the effect we have on our neighbor, our community. The smallest gesture of kindness, of contribution, even criticism, makes a difference in how our lives unfold. The diversity of every individual, in every home, of every religion, and ethnic background all has an impact in the patchwork of who we are as a community. Yet, without this diversity, we would not be the community we are. We would not have accomplished what has been achieved in the last year.
We are each a gift wrapped up in our own brilliant package. Alone, we are attractive but together, we are a spectacular sight to behold. So, remember, as you are preparing for your Holiday Season, to include yourself and realize your part in making a difference, for without you, our community would be incomplete.
Thank you for all you have done this past year to make Blue Ridge a better place to live. It truly is a Wonderful Life.
May your Holidays be Merry and Bright,
Ken Groshans, President Condo II
And the Standing Condo II Board of Managers
